Drogheda Civic Trust WW1 Remembrance Ceremony

Join Drogheda Civic Trust at 11am on Sat 8th November at the cenotaph on St. Mary’s Street as they remember those from Drogheda district who served and died during WW1.
It’s the 100 year anniversary of the erection of the cenotaph and Drogheda Civic Trust are hosting an afternoon seminar in St Peter’s C.O.I. hall.
Programme:
2:00 pm: Welcome Address by the Mayor
2:10 pm: Recalling the Great War 1914-18 – Dr. Brian Hanley, Trinity College
2:45 pm: Remembering Names on the Cenotaph – Cllr Pio Smith, Tom Reilly, Ged Nash T.D., Dom Gradwell. Screening of 1962 Armistice Parade film
3:30 pm: The St. Peter’s Memorial Plaque – Lynn McDonnell
4:00 pm: The War Poet – Captain Francis Ledwidge
4:45 pm: Musical Conclusion: Michael Holohan and Susan Connolly
