✨The evenings are getting shorter, the air is getting cooler, and the warm glow of Christmas is nearly upon us! So, wrap up warm and come to Drogheda town for the big Christmas Light Switch On taking place on Friday, 21st November on West Street!

🎈It promises to be a fun-filled evening for all the family with lots of free festive activities, including balloon modelling, carol singing, festive ballet performances, and Christmas characters mingling with visitors from 5:30PM on the night.

🎅Santa Claus himself will be taking time out of his busy schedule to visit Drogheda and officially switch on the town’s Christmas lights — and this year, three lucky children will get the chance to help him do it!

🎨To take part, all young artists are invited to enter the Christmas Colouring Competition. There are three age categories — under 6, under 8, and under 12 — and one winner from each group will be chosen to join Santa on stage to help turn on the lights. To enter, simply collect your colouring poster from Drogheda Credit Union, the Love Drogheda BID office, or Drogheda Library, or download it here. Once your masterpiece is complete, return it to Drogheda Library, Drogheda Credit Union, or the Love Drogheda office by Monday, 17th November. Winners will be contacted on Wednesday, 19th November — so get colouring and show us your festive creativity!

🎋The Christmas Lights Switch On marks the official start of the Christmas season in Drogheda and everyone is encouraged to shop local and support local businesses this festive season. When you come down to see Santa and the lights, why not enjoy a meal in one of the many restaurants, treat yourself to a festive hot chocolate, or pick up some gifts from local shops? Together, let’s keep the Christmas spirit alive in Drogheda this year.
