Boyne Valley’s Local Flavours Served Up This October

Food producers, chefs, farmers and businesses across Meath and Louth are set to serve up mouthwatering dishes, curated menus and innovative food and drinks pairings as part of Boyne Valley Bites Dining Week, running from 9-18th October 2026.

A key element of the wider Boyne Valley Flavours food tourism initiative, Boyne Valley Dining Week will see the region come alive for a ten-day celebration of local food, producers and the unique flavours of Meath and Louth.

The celebration will shine a spotlight on the people, produce and stories behind the Boyne Valley’s vibrant food culture, with local restaurants, cafés, hotels and pubs all set to take part by creating their own special offering for visitors and locals alike to enjoy.

From signature dishes and themed menus to local drinks pairings and creative dining experiences, participating businesses will showcase the exceptional ingredients, suppliers and producers, bringing to life the story of the region through food.

One of the many events taking place during the week will be a very special evening from Kitchenetta Catering at Dundalk Gaol on Thursday, 15 October where guests will be invited to enjoy a seven-course, Boyne Valley producer-led menu in the unique surroundings of the historic gaol.

The programme is set to be packed, with the experiences highlighted offering just a taste of what’s in store across the region. The Black Bull Inn, Drogheda will showcase Boyne Valley produce with a special three-course menu from 9–18 October, featuring seasonal ingredients sourced from local producers, while Time Bar & Grill at Pillo Hotel Ashbourne will serve a three-course Boyne Valley Harvest Menu celebrating the flavours of autumn.

Square Restaurant, Dundalk is also set to take part with a special set menu, adding to the range of local food experiences available across the region.

The initiative forms part of the broader Boyne Valley Bites campaign, created to connect local eateries with the farmers, growers, fishermen, cheesemakers, bakers, brewers and other producers who contribute to the region's distinctive food identity.

With the Boyne Valley recognised as a destination for high-quality local produce, the event will provide a platform to highlight everything from locally sourced seafood, meat and cheese to artisan breads, baked goods and regional drinks.
