Templetown Beach

Templetown Beach, County Louth, Ireland

Templetown Beach with its rich history (named after the Knights Templars) is a true hidden gem located on the breath taking Cooley Peninsula in County Louth.

This sheltered, sandy Blue Flag beach is protected on each side by low level rock promontories. The beach is Lifeguarded during the bathing season, and Lifeguard times can be found on the notice board located there.

The beach may be a summer favorite, but its beauty shines just as brightly in all seasons. Feel the sea breeze as you stroll along the sands and listen to the waves breaking against the shore. You will be rewarded with scenic views across Dundalk Bay set against the backdrop of the rugged Cooley mountains. It's a wonderful place to enjoy nature, explore the shoreline and discover seashells and other beach treasures.
