Blackrock

Blackrock, or Na Creaghacha Dubha, is a popular seaside destination dating back to Victorian times. It's beaches attract water sport enthusiasts, and it's protected Wetlands and bird sanctuaries are a huge attraction for all nature lovers.
The shoreline has many natural assets including inter-tidal mudflats, a river estuary, salt marshes and coastal rock outcrops. The entire shoreline is designated as a Specially Protected Area (SPA) and a Special Area of Conservation (SAC).
The village also features a charming beachfront promenade, with sculptures honouring the rich heritage of Blackrock’s coastline. It's a well-loved spot to sit with an ice-cream or a bag of chips and take in the beautiful vistas and fresh sea air.
